Hi, I’m Louisa Butt - ADHD Coach, Consultant and Founder of
The ADHD Way.
My work is rooted in the belief that you don’t need to be "fixed" – you need space to be fully seen, supported, and empowered to do life in a way that actually works for your mind.

I came to this work through lived experience. As a British Pakistani Muslim woman with late-diagnosed ADHD, I spent years trying to keep up, mask my challenges, and force myself to “do life right.” The more I tried to fit into systems that didn’t work for me – professionally, culturally, and emotionally – the more burnt out, disconnected, and frustrated I became. It was exhausting.
Everything changed when I started learning how to work with my brain, not against it. That meant unlearning the shame, honouring how I naturally function, and reconnecting with my identity beneath the mask. Coaching became a huge part of that process.
Now, it’s what I offer to others, through a process that’s validating, empowering, and grounded in real life. Clients often come to me after years of trying productivity hacks, therapy, or self-discipline – and still feeling like something isn’t clicking.
My Approach
-
Client-led – sessions follow what matters most to you, not a one-size-fits-all framework
-
Non-directive – I won’t tell you what to do; I’ll help you untangle what’s going on so your own clarity leads
-
Strengths-based – we identify patterns, capacities, and sparks that already exist and build momentum from there
-
Emotionally attuned – I listen for what’s beneath the words and support nervous system regulation, not just behaviour change
-
Practical – insight always leads to something usable, grounded, and relevant to real life
This is gentle, thoughtful work – not just surface-level productivity coaching.
Why Work With Me
What I offer goes beyond frameworks or productivity tips. I combine professional training, lived experience, and an identity-aware lens – so you’re not just supported, you’re understood.
-
Professionally trained & certified – Formally trained, assessed, and certified through ADDCA, with a strong emphasis on ethics, competence, and evidence-based ADHD coaching.
-
Lived experience, not just theory – I’ve navigated late diagnosis, masking, burnout, misdiagnosis, and cultural pressure – and bring that understanding into the work.
-
Identity-aware coaching – As a South Asian Muslim woman with ADHD, I understand how culture, faith, gender, and family dynamics can shape ADHD experiences.
-
Structure and soul – With a background in journalism and the corporate world, I understand real-world pressure and how to balance clarity with depth.
-
Ethical, well-supported practice – I work with care and integrity, and can connect you to a trusted network of professionals if support beyond coaching is needed.
